ExtremeTech has details on the specifications for the next generation of PCI Express connections. PCI-SIG has settled on a set of specs which would see up to 5gigabits/second of bandwidth per PCI-E lane. Graphics adapters could see up to 10GB/s (each way) of available bandwidth, which is quite fast using current 16x lane setups.
