eWeek writes of Microsoft’s Mako project which will take measures to protect a PC and the user’s information. Their “Active Protection” scheme would limit risky behavior which include blocking suspect executables from running and automatically shutting down connection ports presumably once infected. As long as it doesn’t interfere with normal PC operations it’ll be a great set of tools for the novice user.
