PCWorld has details on a laptop that Samsung demoed at Cebit which uses a solid-state disk. Instead of a hard-drive storing data a large number of flash chips perform the same function but provide benefits such as faster data transfers and noise-less operation. Hefty pricing but more than one performance minded task could benefit from it.
