Beyond3D seems to think that ATI may be releasing a new class of add-on card that can do some impressive things other than rendering graphics. Their current GPUs may be fitted on to boards which will run a custom API that will let the chips do all manner of calculations very quickly. It’s not much of a stretch of the imagination when you take a look at their physics endeavors.
