InfoWorld has news on VIA’s plans to put two chip cores on one CPU package. Just to make things clear both cores aren’t in the same silicon chip, it’ll be two seperate cores on one package. The approach is strange and will no doubt increase the likelyhood of cracked or chipped cores if they aren’t protected by a heatspreader but it’s an interesting approach.
