The Tech Report has an informative look at the Hitachi Ultrastar 10K300 SCSI based hard drive. This 300GB Ultrastar has the common SCSI introductory spin speed of 10,000RPM giving it mid-range performance which makes it, from the looks of things, a good choice for server roles.
