Microsoft has dropped its plan to use the name “Windows XP Reduced Media Edition” for the media player-less version of their OS which will make its debut in the European Union. New names they’re considering and a release time-frame aren’t mentioned but it’s easy to see why they dropped it with threats of massive fines hanging over their heads. PC World has the whole story.
