EarthLink, one of the larger Internet Service Providers in the U.S., says it has found, on average, 28 spyware items on PCs that users have scanned using its online Spy Audit software. They scanned a little over a million PCs which is a rather large sample and the results are frightening from a privacy perspective but not surprising with the number of cookie enabled websites out there.
