Freescale Semiconductor has sketched out a new chip it intends to market to the embedded computing sector but could obviously work well in other situations. Their MPC8641D processor houses two of their e600 cores which are based on modified versions of the PowerPC G4 design. Impressive piece of hardware if it makes it into consumer electronics.
